Coats are Fall's Best Accessory

If you know anything about me, you know that coat's are my favorite fall accessory, second to a good hat of course. I currently have an entire closet in my small North End apartment dedicated to just coats, addiction or just a fashionista? Today I'm going to share with you some of my favorite fall looks and will add a link to each piece to add to your fall wardrobe!

In the past week I added two more jackets to my collection, unsure where they will fit but excited for the chilly weather to bring them out. Fall is my favorite season... we all know fall fashion is the best. It's started to cool down this last week of August and I promised myself I will wait until at least September 1st to wear my new Cropped Sherpa Collar Oversized Denim Jacket from Abercrombie (my first associate purchase). Yes, I finally gave into the 50% off associate discount but I did hold out for three weeks #smallvictories. I mean look at the picture to the right and tell me it wouldn't look great with midi skirt and light sweater?
Faux fur coats are also everywhere at the minute and I'm here for it. Last season I bought my first one from you guessed it, Abercrombie, maybe I need to expand my horizons? But, I did actually find it at my local TJ Maxx for $15, and it retailed for $130 #ballinonabudget. The first time I wore my faux fur I paired it with boyfriend jeans and hightop vans (the winterized versions). Currently it's packed away but I found a few very similar ones linked below.
These coats are on the tame side for faux fur. There are others on the market that are far more flamboyant but that's what I love about fashion; depending on your mood you can go bold or be more subtle. I like a bold coat but these neutral colors make it a bit easier to wear day-to-day.
Now my closet knows I don't need any more coats BUT I have been on the lookout for an oversized plaid jacket, preferably with a hint of orange. I've been into orange lately and have been thinking of redoing my entire bed with an orange accent, we'll see. I think this style coat would look great with black skinny jeans or my favorite, winter white. Some of my favorite pinterest finds are below. Pinterest always provides inspiration to help me put together different outfits. I never plan my emsamb the night before. So when I wake up in the morning and can't put something together but know I want to wear my leather pants, I'll type in the search bar "leather pants outfit." I swear I get 10 different looks that I like and sometimes end up more confused. It's a great way to get creative with your clothes and pair items together that you might not of before.
The last staple item in everyone's wardrobe is the classic jean jacket. The best part is that many of my friends, including myself, still have their first denim jackets from age 13. I remember for my 13th birthday my mom surprised me with a trip to New York to see Wicked on Broadway and a shopping spree. I had a jean jacket on my wishlist. I've had that jacket ever since and still wear it, that was 13 years ago. Damn, I'm gettin up there, but hey if I can fit into a coat I bought at 13 years old I'm not complainin'.
Two years ago I decided it was time to "invest" in an oversized one and have gotten so many compliments on it. People always ask "where'd you get that it looks so expensive?". Truth be told I found it at Primark for $27! If you aren't familiar, Primark is an Irish fast fashion retailer headquartered in Dublin and two years ago opened its first US location in Boston. I was first exposed to Primark during my time abroad in London and was obsessed. As a poor college student who could barely afford her drinks, this store was a god send to appease my shopping habit and not spend 200 pounds on a pair of jeans and a sweater. If you're ever in Boston I would highly recommend paying a visit, you never know what you might find!
Happy coat shopping!
