Being from Upstate New York and growing up with a mother who always enjoyed Mackenzie Childs, you can imagine my love for the Courtly Check. One of my favorite times of year is the Mackenzie Childs Barn Sale in July and Warehouse Sale in March. I discovered this year that the Warehouse Sale is actually full of better deals and there are far less crazy upstate mom’s running around attempting to grab items from your cart, but it did still happen. Get away from my Tissue Box Cover, Cheryl!
Now that I have my own apartment I’ve stocked up on my MC items. Walking into my small kitchen each day and seeing my Teapot makes me so happy. It’s always been on my list to have one of my own but I didn’t trust the roomies using it, it was my first big MC purchase and I want it forever (sorry ladies!). I went with the 2 quart, it fit much better in my North End one bed apartment but if you have a larger kitchen the larger one would look great. I included some of the other popular MC patterns below and links to get your own.
My other favorite items are the Courtly Check Serving Plate and Fruit Bowl. The plate is perfect for displaying charcuterie or sushi. It even looks cute on the kitchen wall as decoration. I love using my serving bowl for fancy steak cesar salads or to hold my 12 lemons, I have to make this small apartment chic somehow!

Not only is the Mackenzie Childs Headquarters beautiful but it’s set on Cayuga Lake, one of the many finger lakes. If you’re visiting from out of town I would highly suggest staying at the Aurora Inn, you’ll enjoy amazing views and great food. Skaneateles Lake is only 20 minutes away and one of Upstate New York's hidden gems.
