As some of you may of heard or read, I AM MOVING TO UTAH!!!! If you follow my personal account you'll note my not so subtle caption "@utah you ready?". Just droppin' hints. Moving to Utah is something I've thought about since I was 18 years old, but my parents told me it was too far to go to college. I'm the oldest and ended up going two hours away lol.

I'm a huge skier and for the past three years I've been lucky enough to travel to some beautiful mountains. The main reason for those trips was to pick a new place to live but I never pulled the trigger for various reasons i.e. work, relationships, and having built myself a life in Boston. My life did take a bit of a turn this last year, but at age 26 (which I thought was old to be doing this, reality check, its not) I have zero obligations and can finally do what I've always wanted... for me! I think I was beginning to sound like a broken record to my friends because I've talked about this for years but never took the plunge. One friend already has her trip booked for the end of January, see you on the slopes Erin!! I really can't wait to experience a place other than New England, although I love Boston and the life I've built it's time for something different. If I want to head up to Jackson Hole for the weekend, sure, 5 hour drive, EASY. Or if I want to go see the Bonneville Salt Flats for the day, go ahead, take the 1 hour drive. If I want to check out the Fifth Water Hot Springs, I can do that. Feel like exploring Zion and sleeping in the trunk of a truck, I CAN DO THAT!!!!! Not that I couldn't before, but ya know a 4 hour drive is very different than a 6+ hour flight.

As you can imagine, it's going to be a very busy few months but I'm going to try and document my entire move and how to actually get yourself, and all your things across the country. In one piece. In the last week I've been on the hunt for a place to live but it's a bit more difficult that I thought it would be, mostly because when I have an idea I make a plan and what the plan to happen right away. Thankfully I've given myself three months to figure this out. But hey, I found an apartment in Boston with a timeframe of 2.5 weeks, so I think I can do this. I'm hoping to find a roomie that wants an updated space, likes to ski, spend time outdoors and watch Bravo while eating charcuterie. Not to much to ask for, right?? If you know anyone send them my way, please. Also the rent in SLC is unreal, $600 for a brand new, renovated house with a garage and yard. Sign me up.

So far, I've booked a U-Box but I'm not even sure I'll take my furniture with me, might be better to just start over with all new things. Anyone have any insight on this? Although, we all know I won't be able to fit my 37 coats (okay 18) in my Jeep Compass with the rest of my belongings. So for now it's going to be a TBD on getting my things there but at least I have the U-box booked. Also I think it takes an entire month to get there, so that should be fun waiting for all my clothes and Mackenzie Childs to arrive safely #anxiety. Maybe I'll just pack the MC in my car, which I'll be driving out at the end of December.

My bff, Kendal (check out her friend feature post), has agreed to go on this road trip with me. Don't worry we'll instagram live the entire thing, you'll want to follow to see what a shit show it's going to be. Will we break down? Will we get a flat tire? We will get lost in Nebraska? Who knows! Maybe she'll even arrive in SLC and never leave (hint hint Kenny, do your residency in UT). I'm thinking we'll do night one in Chicago, maybe even spend NYE there, if fully recovered make it to Omaha, then Denver and finally Salt Lake. The road trip is still in the works but I do promise you won't be disappointed if you follow along.

Also the biggest question is, WHAT DO I RENAME MY BLOG?? Is anyone opposed to keeping it The Boston Blonde even though I won't be here? My friends were thinking of new names and the best we came up with is A Salt City Biddy... not terrible but could be better. Please share suggestions (I will give you credit).

Anyways, here's to post #1 about my move. Stay tuned for how I somehow plan to do this, all by myself (go me)
