One of my favorite places to shop is Abercrombie, I know you may laugh, but I promise they are making a comeback. Two weeks ago I was browsing the Midi Skirt section for a cheetah print skirt (I was headed to a Shwayze concert and needed something trendy girls). After debating 4 different skirts and while on my way out, the Manager who helped me asked if I would ever consider a job in retail. My first reaction was no, I have a full time job, thanks though. But when I got home I thought more about it, I’ve always wanted to work in Fashion and this could be my ticket in and something that I enjoy. I called the manager that night and set up an interview the following week!
I told a few people about my interview and everyone’s first question was, “what’s the discount?”, and I discovered at Orientation that it’s pretty good. I’m hoping to have some self control and not buy everything in the store but the things I do buy and pair together I can share with you here. For the concert I chose to pair the skirt with a black cropped T and Steve Madden Slides (so 90s I know). On the right, I paired it with a J Crew T and Gucci Slides, so chic. I'll also work on taking some better quality photos!
Abercrombie has really changed its image and is targeting millennials; the cologne no longer wafts through the air, the club techno music has been changed to Ed Sheeran and their ads are more focused on the outdoors. When I received my Welcome Packet I read the story behind A&F and funny enough, it started as an upscale sporting goods store. Now, 120 years later it's a status symbol for people visiting the US and an inclusive brand for us millennials (in recent years).
Some of the other skirts I tried on are pictured below, I really did want all three but asked myself if it was really necessary. Hey, maybe with this new discount I can buy each for $15!
I will definitely be posting more about my time at A&F and link the clothes for you guys to check out!
