What? Like it's hard?

If you don't know what that line is from, I highly suggest you go watch my girl Elle Woods take on Harvard Law in Legally Blonde. I myself, will be taking a page out of her book and have been accepted into Harvard's Entrepreneurship Essentials Course. #gome
When you don't have the time or the money for a graduate degree in business, taking an online course is a great option. After all, it doesn’t require weeks or months of studying for a mid-term or final project. And you don't have to quit your job or give up your social life. And hello, it's unhealthy to not have a social life. To top it off, it costs just a fraction of what you'd pay for any MBA program (full time or part time). Not to say it's not pricey but I do think having Harvard on your resume is career and confidence booster.
I was meant to take this class at the end of October but as most of you know I am moving to Utah after Christmas and have been the biggest stress case (will provide updates on the move soon, I know I've been a little MIA). But having the flexibility to switch my enrollment date was huge. Now when I start I can put 100% into the course and not have to stress about moving across the country at the same time. #winwin
Obviously a single course or even few is not the same as a full-fledged degree program but it can absolutely provide some business basics and self-assurance. I've always had this idea of owning my own clothing boutique but have literally no idea how to do that... so I thought why not take this class to help me get the idea rolling and see if it's a true possibility. Also writing about this gives me some accountability
I am hoping this class will help me:
Identify my business opportunity
Evaluate the idea and assess the market
Explore the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship (you can't fire yourself, right? I think I'd call that a reward!!!)
Leverage experiments to validate concepts and refine the business strategy
Discover the key financial decisions an entrepreneur makes in the early stages of a new business
Also, one of the instructors is the Founder and CEO of Rent the Runway. HELLO, AMAZING.
Soooo, let's see if I can turn my idea into a viable venture my friends. And I promise to do a review on this class and what I get out of it... hopefully some sort of business plan. As always, stay tuned!
