When I first started writing blog posts I was asked “what is my goal with this site” and to be honest I didn’t really have an answer. I was extremely nervous to share my first post with the online world and was afraid of being judged or laughed at. Because, let’s be honest I’m not the most eloquent writer and am usually full of typos (which most of you already know). After sharing my first post I noticed how many views there were and was so excited! As I continued to share more, I constantly checked the number of views and noticed a steady decline, what the world of social media has done to us... It was a bit of a bummer, but I’ve continued to write anyways.

This month I’ve had the misfortune of insomnia and in my late-night thoughts I reflected on my reasoning for writing this blog and decided, it's for me. I feel like I’m finally delving into topics that interest me which is really all that matters, right? I think creative writing is an amazing outlet and whether people read it, laugh at it or never take a look, it doesn’t really matter because it makes me happy. In addition to blogging, I’ve been journaling, and it really does help me organize my thoughts and how I feel about certain matters. I read online that creative writing allows a person to feel more comfortable and confident when asserting opinions and perspectives and allows you to be more open, which is something I can always improve upon.

I’ve given myself the opportunity to express my thoughts on subjects I truly enjoy, like travel, fashion and food. But have also given myself the chance to reflect on what I want out of life with my journaling. At the ripe “old” age of 26, I should probably have some sort of “5 Year Plan” in place and I'm hoping my new hobby of jotting down my thoughts can help me get there. Plus, I think it's finally time I accept that I’m the only one who’s going to give me what I want and need out of life. My goal from this blog is to become a better thinker and to live a more intentional life. I hope to learn a lot more about myself and perhaps this silly blog or silly new retail job will help me realize I can open that small boutique shop in a mountain resort town. Who knows!
